Haviva Malina, MD

Co-Founder & Medical Director

Dr. Haviva Malina is a licensed emergency medicine physician with more than 15 years of experience caring for patients in high-acuity settings. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, from Barnard College of Columbia University, receiving departmental honors in Psychology and earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the Jacobi/Montefiore program. Dr. Malina became a proponent of ketamine therapy after seeing its rapid and meaningful impact on patients with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mood disorders—particularly during the mental-health crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic. At Keta Medical Center, she leads with a focus on patient safety, compassionate care, and improving access to evidence-based treatments including Spravato®.
Cheryl Malina, MD

Co-Founder & Medical Director

Dr. Cheryl Malina, a board-certified emergency medicine physician, is the co-founder of Keta Medical Center. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Malina has practiced extensively in hospitals across the Bronx and Westchester. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Barnard College at Columbia University and earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completing her residency at the Jacobi/Montefiore Emergency Medicine Program. Dr. Malina later moved to attending physician roles at several hospitals, most recently as an attending physician at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, New York. Dr. Malina’s interest in ketamine therapy was sparked during the COVID-19 pandemic, as she observed a surge in acute psychiatric cases. Impressed by the rapid, positive changes ketamine brought about in patients she became a strong advocate for its use in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
