About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional with experience in patient-facing roles to join our team as a TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) Technician. This role is ideal for someone with a background in medical technology, mental health care, or hands-on clinical support, including EEG, EKG, neurofeedback, or phlebotomy.

TMS is a non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment used to help patients with depression, and other mental health conditions. If you have experience in administering medical procedures, monitoring patients, and using medical equipment, this could be a great opportunity to expand your skills. The position will initially focus on general office administrative and patient liason responsibilities, as it may take several months to generate sufficient TMS volume to fully support the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer TMS therapy sessions according to established protocols under the guidance of a licensed psychiatrist.
  • Prepare the TMS equipment and ensure proper setup and calibration before each session.
  • Monitor patients during treatment sessions, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of each treatment session in compliance with clinical standards.
  • Educate patients about the TMS procedure, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of TMS equipment to ensure functionality.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with front office administrative tasks, including patient scheduling, insurance verification, obtaining prior authorizations, and answering patient inquiries.
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure accurate data entry and documentation.
  • Support billing and invoicing processes by coordinating with the appropriate departments or external vendors.
  • Maintain organized office operations, including supply inventory, patient forms, and general office upkeep.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering TMS treatments is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or mental health settings is an asset.
  • Preference for candidates with additional experience in front office duties, such as insurance verification, obtaining prior authorizations, scheduling, and medical billing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently, follow protocols, and handle sensitive patient information professionally.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with mental health conditions is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and general office software.
